The Oregon Sports Betting Group declared that sports wagering activity and earnings both climbed in August compared to the same time frame last year, even though the state observed a slight dip in player spending from the previous month.
The total amount wagered for August was $28.2 million, a 59.3% jump from $17.7 million in the same month of 2021, but a 1.1% decline from $28.5 million in July.
Gross gaming income for the month reached $2.7 million, a 145.5% increase from $1.1 million in August 2021, and remained steady compared to $2.7 million in July.
All earnings were generated by DraftKings, while Scoreboard reported a loss of $1,206. The Oregon Lottery’s Scoreboard online sports betting platform has been gradually replaced by DraftKings, but it will still honor bets placed before the transition began, meaning a small amount of negative income is anticipated.
Baseball continued to be the most popular sport among consumers, with a total of $13.9 million wagered on the sport for the month, all through DraftKings, generating $1.5 million in revenue.
DraftKings also received $4.1 million in wagers from football, generating $386,559 in revenue from the sport, while players also wagered $2.8 million on tennis through DraftKings, generating $265,324 in revenue.
In terms of bet types, DraftKings received $21 million in single bets and teasers and $8 million in parlay bets.
Alright, let’s give this a spin. Here’s a reworded version, keeping the essence but with a bit of human touch:
“A wager of $59, a $59 teaser bet, and a $10 parlay were placed on the scoreboard.
