The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has requested the blocking of six additional foreign gambling and affiliate marketing websites that are operating unlawfully in Australia.
The ACMA conducted an investigation into Casino Moons, Winnerama, Extra Vegas, Win Paradise, LegitGamblingSites.com and Gamblers Lab, discovering that they were all in violation of the Interactive Gambling Act of 2001.
Consequently, the ACMA contacted internet service providers (ISPs) within the nation and requested that they block access to the websites within Australia.
Since the ACMA first initiated blocking requests in November 2019, a total of 568 illegal gambling and affiliate websites have been blocked.
Since the ACMA commenced enforcing new regulations on unlawful foreign gambling in 2017, over 170 illegal services have withdrawn from the Australian market.
The ACMA stated: “The ACMA reminds consumers that even if a service appears authentic, it is improbable that it will possess substantial consumer protection measures.” “This implies that Australians utilizing illegal gambling services are at risk of financial loss.”
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) issued its first official warning to a provider earlier this month after discovering Proxous Advanced Solutions in violation of the regulations for supplying gaming software to 13 unlawful online gambling venues. This most recent round of blocking requests follows.
The ACMA’s investigation revealed that Proxous intentionally took part in providing prohibited interactive gambling services to Australians by sub-licensing Real-Time Gaming (RTG) branded software products that were utilized by the casinos, in breach of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.
The illegal casino brands identified as operating unlawfully include Fair Go Casino, Two Up Casino, Free Spin, BoVegas, Uptown Pokies, Uptown Aces, Red Dog Casino, Slots Empire, Cherry Gold Casino, Play Croco, Aussie Play, Ozwin Casino, and Reels Of Joy.
