The Australian media watchdog, ACMA, is taking action against unlawful international gambling websites. They have instructed internet providers to restrict connections to these platforms, which are functioning in breach of Australian regulations. Numerous websites, including those with titles like Casino Moons and Winnerama, are now inaccessible within Australia. This initiative is part of a broader strategy by the ACMA to safeguard Australians from the risks associated with illicit gambling. Since 2017, more than 170 unauthorized gambling platforms have ceased their activities in Australia as a result of ACMA’s endeavors. The ACMA advises Australians to engage in gambling solely on authorized platforms and provides a directory on their website to verify a site’s legitimacy. Recently, they delivered a formal caution to Proxous Advanced Solutions, an organization that was aiding these unlawful sites in their operations.
The Australian media regulator, known as the ACMA, has formally cautioned Proxous, a company that provides software for internet-based casinos. The regulatory body claims that Proxous was aware that it was supplying its RTG software to thirteen online casinos that were illicitly offering their services to Australian citizens.
This marks the first instance in which the ACMA has pursued action against a business for “participation in unlawful gambling operations” through the provision of software.
