The gaming company 1X2 Network has joined forces with Skywind Group to introduce its gaming portfolio to the Romanian market. Through this collaboration, Skywind’s platform will host 1X2 Network’s content, including popular games such as Plinko Go, Smoking Hot Fruits, and Maverick, which will be accessible on websites like princesscasino.ro, cashpot.ro, and luck.com.ro.
This alliance reflects a broader industry movement, as numerous providers recognize Romania as a thriving market. Earlier this month, Thunderkick, a developer of slot games, also partnered with Skywind to expand its presence in Romania. Fredrik Ekholm, Thunderkick’s Head of Sales, described Romania as a “crucial market.”
Romania has witnessed a surge in activity lately, with operators and suppliers actively seeking to establish or enhance their presence within the country. Octoplay formed a partnership with Superbet in mid-December, BGaming secured a deal with WinBet in early January, and Imagine Live recently unveiled plans for a new live casino studio in Bucharest.

Ana-Maria Baciu, a legal expert specializing in intellectual property and a participant in the Romanian National Association for Intellectual Property Attorneys, clarified that “From 2016 onward, the regulatory body in Romania has issued roughly 475 Class 2 permits to gaming entities… Among these, approximately 140 to 150 permits were given to software/game developers, with about 25 granted in 2023 alone.” She observed that although licensing costs were modified in October 2023, the sector has sustained its robust trajectory.
Commenting on the collaboration, Christopher Reed, an Account Executive at 1X2 Network, stated: “This alliance with the Skywind Group enables us to access some of the most favored online platforms within Romania. They collaborate with some of the leading entities in the sector, and now they have the capability to incorporate 1X2 Network’s pioneering slots and games into their remarkable collection.”
He continued, “Romania has represented a significant market for us since we secured our permit in 2022, and this collaboration with Skywind Group will empower us to further broaden our footprint within the nation.”
