The Australian Professional Leagues (APL) has prolonged its sole agreement with IMG for an unspecified duration, encompassing global media privileges, information, and digital broadcasting. This revitalized pact seeks to further propel viewership and financial expansion for both the premier Isuzu UTE A-League Men and Liberty A-League Women tournaments.
As per the accord, IMG will maintain its management and distribution of the APL’s media entitlements beyond Australia and New Zealand. Concurrently, IMG Arena will shoulder the responsibility of gathering official statistics from all games, rendering it accessible to upwards of 460 authorized sports wagering entities worldwide.
APL Chief Executive Officer Danny Townsend conveyed enthusiasm regarding the partnership’s continuation, underscoring the expansion prospects inherent in Australian and New Zealand football. He accentuated IMG’s invaluable proficiency and worldwide network as pivotal elements in amplifying the league’s visibility.
Townsend further emphasized the promising trajectory of the A-Leagues, citing the influx of national squad standouts, international athletes, and emerging talents for both the Matildas (the Australian women’s national squad) and Socceroos (the Australian men’s national squad). With the incorporation of three fresh women’s clubs into the Liberty A-League Women and two new men’s squads joining the Isuzu UTE A-League Men, supporters can anticipate even more exhilarating football action, goals, and compelling narratives.
Dale Levin, a high-ranking leader at IMG Media responsible for Australia and Southeast Asia, conveyed satisfaction with the organization’s collaboration with the A-League, emphasizing their contribution to the league’s remarkable expansion over the previous six years.
Separately, FanDuel has lately teamed up with IMG Arena to incorporate their golf wagering system into FanDuel’s sports betting platform. This development allows FanDuel customers to now access real-time, in-progress betting choices for PGA Tour competitions, facilitated by IMG Arena’s technological capabilities.
